How much does a pallet of sod weigh? (roll, pallet and zoysia slab weights, square feet per pallet)

A pallet of sod weighs 750-1,500 lb for 500 sq ft of cool-season rolls, 900-1,800 lb for a 600 sq ft pallet, and 1,500-3,000 lb for 400 sq ft of warm-season slabs such as zoysia or bermuda, up to 4,000 lb when drenched. Those are CT Sod's published figures (read 2026-09-29); the spread is moisture, and wet sod sits at the top. One 2 ft × 5 ft roll works out at 15-30 lb. How much does a pallet of sod weigh?

Weight of one pallet as CT Sod gives it, dry to wet, with the square feet on it and the weight per square foot (pallet weight ÷ pallet area). Warm-season grasses (zoysia, bermuda, St. Augustine and centipede) come as slabs on a smaller, heavier pallet; cool-season sod (tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass and other cool-season sod) as rolls.

How much does a roll of sod weigh?

15-30 lb (6.8-13.6 kg) for a 2 ft × 5 ft roll of 10 sq ft: 750-1,500 lb per pallet ÷ 50 rolls. The farm does not weigh single rolls; the figure is the pallet weight shared out, so it carries the same dry-to-wet spread. Warm-season slabs are sold 150-170 to a pallet, a range, so no weight per slab is given here: use the 3.75-7.5 lb per square foot instead.

How much does a pallet of zoysia sod weigh?
